Introduction to the next multi-millionaire

Hello! My name is Sean Keely, student and future millionaire. I'm currently studying Creative Digital Media in TUD. I was born in Dublin on the 14th of ..(you don't need to know what month!) I have just started second year and began to start reflecting on my previous year, (kinda want to go back). I enjoyed most of my modules last year but I probably wouldn't be able to choose a "favourite module" but more certain parts from different modules. I really enjoyed making the film in my first semester. I feel I'm most creative when we have to make a film as my head is constantly thinking on how to make it exciting. to my own surprise I really enjoyed making a poster in the graphic design module for my final assignment. Game Design

After spending some time reading the readings about what a game is and what are the elements involved that make a game a game, I realised I have never really asked myself what actually is a game and have just assumed that I knew what games are and what the world surrounding games are like. While mentioned in the reading, I also came to the conclusion that it is much harder to explain what a game is and that no one can really decide as a collective what a game is. It discussed that games need to have rules, goals, be safe, conflict along with countless other "necessities". Unity Tutorial 02

Hey Roosters! Today I took part in the second Unity tutorial on how to make a game. This tutorial continued on from the last tutorial I completed last week. I learned how to add sound on to the diamond so when I go to collect the diamond and 'ping' sound was made to indicate it was collected. I learned how to upgrade the graphics of the terrain by adding in water with a slight dip to make the water appear shallow and not on a flat surface. The tutorial showed me how to make textures appear more realistic by bring a wall into the environment and adding different textures and colours. I also learned how to create a permanent shadow which in could decide how dark I wanted the shadow to appear in-game. In the second part of the tutorial I learned how to add in a cursor and how to change its shape, size and colour to whatever I wanted. I am still finding writing the code to be quite difficult.
